Working together for better outcomes

The Council commissions around £350m of contracts every year to deliver services for people living in Cheshire West and Chester.

The contracts cover a wide range of services, from delivering kerbside recycling to providing care for the borough's most vulnerable residents. It's very important that the Council can achieve value for money in providing these services.

Last week, colleagues from across the Council came together at a conference to share knowledge on commissioning and learn from others, in order to continue to provide better outcomes for residents. Council companies Brio and Cheshire West Recycling shared their experiences too, demonstrating how the contracts that are commissioned can support the local economy and provide social value : creating opportunities and improving skills for residents.
